Under 16 PhotoCard

Under 16 PhotoCard is for anybody aged 11 to 16. It entitles you to half-fare bus travel, and is your ID to buy Under 19 tickets and half-price rail season tickets.

PLEASE NOTE: We have moved to a new online ordering system. If you have previously ordered a Young Persons, 16-18 (formerly Scholars) PhotoCard online, you must still create a new account.  

New Changes to Bus Travel for all Under 19s in West Yorkshire from 25 July. 

MCard is now the one and only way for under 19s to travel on each and every bus in West Yorkshire.

Under 16 PhotoCard

If you're Under 16 and want to travel around West Yorkshire for less, then the Under 16 PhotoCard is just what you need. The Under 16 PhotoCard is free of charge and available to West Yorkshire residents age 11 to 16.


  • Half-fare bus and train travel in West Yorkshire at any time of the day, including evenings and weekends.
  • Load discounted MyDay, weekly and monthly tickets for unlimited travel across West Yorkshire. Find out how.
  • Valid up to the day before the card holder's 16th birthday

Please be aware that without an Under 16 PhotoCard a child will have to pay the full adult fare for their journey.

How to apply

All applications must be made by a parent or guardian. 

Your PhotoCard will be posted to you within 2 - 3 working days.


West Yorkshire residents age 11 to 16 are eligible, although you can apply earlier if a child looks older. 

Lost, stolen or damaged cards

If a card has been lost or damaged, there is a £5 fee for a replacement. Stolen cards are replaced free of charge at a Bus Station Travel Centre, or for £5 online.
